Public Transit Las Vegas

CAT operates 40 scheduled routes serving the Las Vegas Valley, Mesquite, and Laughlin.
The hours of operation for the CAT are 5:30 am to 1:30am daily. There is limited 24 hour service on selected routes. The system consists of 49 routes served by 305 buses, carrying close to 150,000 passengers everyday in the greater Las Vegas Valley. All CAT buses serving the Las Vegas Valley provide a bicycle rack on the front of each bus that can accommodate up to two bikes.
Free Shuttles
A free shuttle stops at the back of Harrah's. At the back of the casino look for the "Bus Departures" area on your left. The shuttle runs from 10 am to 1am every 20 to30 minutes (depending on traffic). Note that buses can only fit around 20 people and there is no standing. As an alternative, walk to the Strip it takes around 25 minutes. A shuttle bus leaves the Hard Rock each hour from 10 am to 7 pm covering the Strip they don't make a lot of stops. If you see one of these purple mini-buses flag them down. It stops near the Forum Shops 10 minutes after the top of the hour, at the Fashion Show Mall at 15 minutes past the hour, and the Stardust at 20 after.
A free shuttle departs the Stardust headed to Sam's Town every hour, starting at 9 am till 10 pm. trips back are every hour from 9:30 am till 10:30 pm. This bus stops at the Harrah's "Bus Departures" area.
At Sam's Town, catch a shuttle to Fremont Street area. The shuttle runs from 9 am till 10:45 pm. trips back to Sam's Town are every 1:15 from 8:30 am till 11:30 pm.
Please remember that there Website says that a "Room key may be required" be sure to keep enough cash for the CAT just in case they ask for room keys when you get a return shuttle.
There is a shuttle that leaves from the Gold Coast (near the Rio) and the Orleans with stops at each resort. From 9:30 a.m. till midnight every 20 to 30 minutes. It stops on the Flamingo Road (side) entrance to the Barbary Coast.
Trolley Buses Note:
There is no longer a trolley running between the Stratosphere and Fremont Street.
Trolleys run from 9:30 am till 2 am about every 20 minutes, and cost $1.50 (exact change required).
Fremont Street
Your options for going between Fremont Street and the Strip are a taxi or the CAT transit bus a bus ride takes around 20 to 45 minutes depending on traffic, buses are standing room only during rush hours. A taxi from Fremont Street to Treasure Island is about $9 (not including the tip) traffic when traffic is light.
