Paying by Credit Card Over the Internet
Using your credit card over the internet is no different than using it at your favorite restaurant. In fact, internet transactions have proven to be more secure than typical usage.
That's in part because of enhanced security protections available with technology, like the ones we use to protect your information. When you submit payment through our website, our system provides you with a secure connection that ensures the information is transferred from you to our secure servers only. This is called SSL encryption, which blocks third parties from being able to access your information by using your browser's software to encode the transaction. Using the most up to date web browser will help ensure maximum security for your transaction.

What is SSL encryption?
Hosteltimes.com makes use of SSL(Secure Sockets Layer) encryption. SSL is a set of rules followed by computers connected to the web. These rules include encryption, which guards against eavesdropping; data integrity, which ensures that your communications are not tampered with during the transmission of and authentication of your information; and verification, which proves that the business who receives your communication is who it claims to be.
SSL protects your communications during transmissions. Because of the authentication involved, secure servers are normally slower than regular servers.
Therefore, SSL is only used when transmitting sensitive information across the web.

How does SSL Encryption work?
There are two levels of encryption:40-bit and 128-bit. With 40-bit encryption, there are billions of possible keys to decipher the coded information. Only one has the key to your information. That means someone attempting to intercept that data would need to have the exact key to obtain your information - a nearly impossible task given the billions of combinations. With 128-bit encryption, there are 300 billion times as many keys as with 40-bit encryption, making it virtually impossible for an unauthorized party to find the right key.

Check Our Security Status
When you click to confirm your booking on the confirmation page, you will be transferred to our secure server. Take a look at the address bar in your browser you will notice an "s" added to the familiar "http"(to make "https"). This indicates that
SSL encryption is in effect for the current page, meaning your transaction is secure.
You will then be brought to the following page: https://secure.hosteltimes.com/enterdetails.asp.
In Netscape Navigator 3.0 and earlier, the broken key symbol in the lower corner of your browser window becomes a solid when you enter into a secure mode.
In Netscape Navigator 3.0 and earlier, the padlock symbol in the corner, usually open, closes in secure mode.
If you are about to send information to a site that is not employing SSL, your browser will first advise you.
