1. Will I be required to buy or have a membershipcard to make a reservation from Hosteltimes?

No, the Hosteltimes does not require any membership. All of the hostels listed on the website will allow you to stay without a membership card.

2. Should I register (Sign up) and Log In to make a reservation from Hosteltimes?

Not necessarily. When you make a reservation, Hosteltimes provide you with an ID and Password to your email address automatically. You can use user ID and Password to review your reservation.

3. What's the Member benefit?

Hosteltimes provides rich information about traveling the world. Also, you will be informed with any discounts or promotions that are offered by our partner hostels.

4. How much does it cost to book online?

Yes, there is a booking fee,$2, applies to each booking. A 10% deposit for hostels or 15% deposit for tour packages is required based on the price of your total payment. This deposit will be subtracted from the full amount of the room rates upon payment at hostel. (10% = deposit, 90% = actual payment at arrival to hostels) But there is one exception. When you make a reservation for a tour package, you will see the detailed explanation about when your full amount of balance for tour package will be charged on your credit card.

5. Do I have to use a credit card to book online?

Yes, you will have to use your credit card or ATM debit card to make an online reservation with Hosteltimes.

6. Hosteltimes credit card transaction and security provider.

Your booking is secured by the 128bit encryption through Verisign. This is currently the most up to date and reliable security standard available on the Internet. It ensures that any information you submit, including your credit card information, will remain completely confidential and secure.

7. What will happen if I need to cancel, or change my reservation?

Our policy states that you are able to cancel your reservation when you need to; However, Hosteltimes does not issue refunds under any circumstances. Issuing refunds is based on cancellation policies by hostels or tour companies. Generally, hostels and tour companies have flexible cancellation policies, so please contact them for their policies. Although hostels or tour companies accept your cancellation regularly, the 10% deposit is non-refundable. If you are to change your reservation, you can also directly contact the hostel or tour company.

8. What currency are the prices based on?

Hosteltimes uses only US Dollars for prices, in order to avoid any confusion regarding the various conversion rates; however, hostel owners can ask customers to pay with their own currency at arrival.

9. Does the Hosteltimes provide discounts?

Hosteltimes does not issue any discounts. Discounts are offered at a variety of hostels. Any Discounts must be redeemed upon arrival at your hostel.

10. How early/late can I make a reservationfor hostels or tours?

You can make a reservation anytime you like; although, we suggest that you book in advance to make sure the hostel/tour company has a space for you. You can only make a reservation two days prior to your arrival date at the latest.

11. Is my booking guaranteed?

Absolutely yes, every online booking is guaranteed. The confirmation number given to you for each booking will guarantee your reservation upon arrival. Your confirmation number will be emailed to you. Remember to print your confirmation page and bring it with you to your destination for a speedy Check-In. If you do not have access to a printer, please make a note of your confirmation number.

12. Do I need to bring my own bed linen or sleeping bag?

The majority of hostels provide clean linen and often blankets free of charge to the guests.Although some do charge for this particular service, it is not very expensive. The best way to know such information is to read their policies thoroughly.

13. What is the difference between a Private and a Shared Room?

Shared Rooms are dormitory style, and sizes vary from four beds and up. Most hostels offer male, female, or mixed(co-ed) accommodation. Private rooms are for you and/orwho else is in your group. Sizes vary from single bed, twin beds, double bed, and etc.

14. Is there an age limit to stay hostel?

The majority of hostels do not have a restriction on guests regarding age. The best way to know such information is to read their policies thoroughly.

15. Does Room price include tax?

For most of hostels, tax is included, but a few hostels require tax such as hostels in New York. The best way to know such information is to read their policies thoroughly.
