Day 1
You can begin early with breakfast at the Casa de los Azulejos, which you can continue, if there is a clear sky, with a visit to the top of the Torre Latinoamericana or with a stroll around the Alameda Central. Visit the Palacio de Bellas Artes and then wind yourself through the historic center on calle tacuba to have lunch in the historic Cafe de Tacuba; here, you are right on the corner of the Zocalo, with its cathedral, ruins, and museums. Be sure to visit the Templo Mayor, and then end your day overlooking it all from the bars in either the Hotel Majestic or the Holiday Inn Zocalo.
Day 2
On the second day you can head for the Museo Nacional de Antropologia in the morning and take pleasure in one of the many swank eateries in the Polanco neighborhood. After that you can take a taxi to the Mercado Artesanal La Ciudadela to hit the craft stalls. You may want to consider an enjoyable evening in the fashionable Colonia Condesa for cocktails and dinner.
Day 3
On the third day, take a trip to San Angel-start with Bazar Sabado (if it's Saturday) or the Museo Estudio Diego Rivera. Head east to Coyocan, with lovely casa-museums, especially the Museo de Frida Kahlo and Museo de Leon Trotsky. Visit DFowntown Plaza Garibaldi fopr a rousing mariachi send-off, or just go for a classy dinner and a few hours of dancing. However if you are intrigued by the classic period site of Teotihuacan, you may want to spend the third day there.
If time is not that important to you follow the 3 day intinerary, seeing San Angel and Coyoacan on the third day, then go to Bosque de Chapultepec on day 4 to stroll the green pathways and visit the museums and the Zoologico to see pandas. On day five take a day trip to climb a pyramid at the ruins of Teotihuacan.
