City of Angels
The vast majority of people, who travel into Los Angeles, do so by plane, which means they will be entering L.A. via LAX (Los Angeles International Airport). LAX: Phone Number-(310)646-5252. It is located practically right on the ocean, right off the 1-405, of which is situated between the city of Santa Monica, and Manhattan Beach, it is rather conveniently place to land. As it is within a half hour's ride from the Westside, Hollywood, or downtown L.A. For more information, go to: www.lawa.org , it offers a complete and precise heap of useful information, such as for transportation contacts, nearby lodging, a map of the airport itself, and surround areas/streets, and a handful of links to relative sites. Best bet for any budget traveler would be to rent a car, as it will prove to come in handy, as the public transportation is not always so reliable way of getting from place to place. And it is just down right exhausting and boring, to the point of tears. Otherwise, you can choose from a limited list of Shuttles, vans that carry travelers from the airport to their next and final destination, which of course would happen to be their lodging, as most of them will be very tired after a long flight, and be suffering from jetlag. Another option of getting from the airport to your place of lodging could be by Taxi. They will be lined up in front of each and every terminal awaiting a potential customer to exit the airport's arrival area. However, they tend to be quite costly, and most of the drivers are not ever nice, and even some of them cannot even understand the local language, English, that was an in joke, you know.
Super-Shuttle:1-800-blue-van or www.supershuttle.com offers regularly scheduled minivans from LAX to any location in the city. The set fare can range from about $15 to $35 per person; it all kind of depends on your destination. Now if for some reason you are actually going to be traveling with three or more your friends, then it may be a bit wiser, as well as cheaper to take a Taxi, otherwise, it will be better to just take the Shuttle. You do not need to make a reservation to catch a shuttle and ride it to the city, but upon return to the airport, they require you and all travelers to book a shuttle.
