The average climate of Los Angeles is typically a mild and rather pleasant all year round. Although, a brief period of heavy downpour of rain, which cause flash floods, that can often occur during the winter months, starting in November and ending in the beginning of March, just before spring begins to appear and trees and flowers seem to pop up everywhere. The strongest of the downpours occur during the Month of February. Los Angeles' climate and for that matter, is not as precise or set as other Temperate areas of the U.S. or the world. The primary influence of which is Able to some what moderate these conditions, is the Pacific Ocean. Furthermore, Los Angeles is bounded along the north, and east by a very long and extensive Mountain chain, this acts a major buffer against the extreme against the extreme Summer heat and winter chill of the desert, and plateau regions.
